Finn is ONE!!

A lot has happened since I last posted.  We bought a house, a new car, found out we are having another baby and the most exciting.....FINN HAD HIS FIRST BITHDAY! Can you believe it?  I am a mother to a one year old!  Finn is such a great little kido.  Our lives are more meaningful now that he is here in our family.  He is so smart and keeps us on our toes.  He can say quite a few words and is basically walking.  He still chooses to crawl, but he can walk and does when HE  feels like it.  Cole is working tons and we are grateful for all the hard work he puts up with to provide for his family.  We are hoping soon that his schedule will slow down and he will be home more.  Finn LOVES his daddy.  I love his new phase!  As soon as DaDa walks in the door Finn only has eyes for him and won't let him out of them!  Cole is enjoying the new attention too.  He is a great dad.

We love your house.  It is perfect for us.  We really got lucky.  It is a 4 br , 2 ba.  We have a great size backyard with a garage/shop.  Eventually we are hoping to make the attic into a spare room and put a theater up there too!  That will be fun and exciting when we get to work on that.  Having a house has been such a great blessing! The houses here are fairly cheap and we were able to get a beautiful home well under our budget! I always assumed when we bought a house, the house would own us until we died.  This has been a nice experience and thankfully we that wont happen! Hooray :)   We have really enjoyed taking care of our lawn and doing all those " homeowner" things.  It has been awesome to have a place where we can entertain.  Surprisingly my hubby LOVES to entertain!! Who could have guessed.  Every Friday we have our friends over.  If we don't he is bummed.  He is so great.

Speaking of friends...We are so spoiled.  How many people now a days can say they have several good friends that live near them?? Well, outside of High school??? I couldn't until recently.  Our friends here in Carlsbad are amazing!! We have The Allen's; they have an adorable little girl about 3.5 months younger than Finn.  They are a great family.  We are so happy to have them here with us.  Hailee and I go jogging in the mornings around the river.  Our kids are so much happier when they get out of the house.  They love playing together! Carly is a tall girl so Finn and her look like they are the same age.  Then there is the Lindgren's; they have two children, 3 & 4.  They are super fun.  Rachel is our Realtor, she is amazing! She is my age and so gifted in the realtoring field.  Her and I also work together at her mom's dance studio.  I am so grateful to her for getting me my two day a week job.  It has been so fun working there.  I love meeting all the kids and watching them improve.  Devan and Cole are great friends.  It has been a long time for Cole to find someone who has so much in common with him.  Our next couple is the Andersen's; They have a little girl the same age as Carly.  Finn loves his friends.  Kylie and I have been hanging out quite a bit lately.   Our husband's both work in the oil field and are never home. :( We joke with each other that we are single mom's.  We keep busy and our mind's off not seeing our men.  She has really helped me cope and not complain so much when I finally do get to see Cole.  Our last couple we met a few months ago.  The Thompson's; well, they aren't the Thompson's yet.  They are engaged and getting married on May 19, 2012.  They are a cute couple.  We are so excited to add them to our group and to be able to hang out with them more.  Right now we don't get to see her much.  She lives in Albuquerque.  After the wedding they will be living in Carlsbad, so we are super excited about that.  Something that is really cool about our friends, except the Thompson's unfortunately they wouldn't change the date.  We were all married in JULY!!!  We are trying to set up a group anniversary vacation!

I know this next topic is shocking to some and so wonderful to others!! Yes we are having another baby!!! Cole was getting really baby hungry and I kind of was too, but then Finn would be himself and I would tell myself I was crazy for wanting another one so soon.  We found out Cole's sister was expecting and we talked about it a little more seriously.  So we decided to try.  Then two weeks later we changed our minds, but the deed was done and I found out I was pregnant when I was about 8 weeks.  I was so oblivious to the signs.  Looking back now I should have know a long time before I did.  Cole even suspected before I took the test.  This pregnancy has been the polar opposite of Finn's.  I have had pretty bad morning sickness this time and heartburn! Yuck!  Now that I am 14 weeks though the sickness has stopped, I hope for good, and I am feeling really energized.  I really think it has helped that I have been more active this time.  I can still wear all my jeans! Yahoo for me ;) Last time by week 10 I was in prego pants. haha My belly wasn't big, but my hips just spread out so quickly! So strange how they can be so different.  Everyone, including myself think this time we are having a girl.  I felt so strongly we were having a boy with Finn and now I am trusting my intuition again.  I am still not going to find out, but Cole will.  Sorry though we are keeping this one a secret from everyone.  Last time I felt like people slipped up and then I was the only one that really didn't know.  Sorry you will all have to be patient until she/ he decides it is time to come! :)  My due date it Oct. 25, 2012.  Not sure When the baby will actually come though.  I would prefer not to be induced again, but we are seeing a Midwife in Roswell.  I either get the Doc of the day or choose to be induced when she is on call......good thing we have a few months to work through all the possibilities.   We are going to try to do an all natural water birth.  It wasn't an option with Finn and I really feel if I had a more supportive Doctor and nurse staff I could have delivered naturally.   Cole was very helpful of course, but we both didn't know what we were doing and he was paying more attention to rubbing my back and soothing me.  A few of my friends have delivered naturally and in water and they enjoyed the experience.  They have been giving me pointers and are going to help with the process as much as they can.  I have this CD called " Hypnobirthing"  I plan to listen to that during labor to help remind me that my body is doing what it is suppose to do and I need to breath and relax to help the process along.  I am really excited for this labor.  I have watched so many labor stories and every time a water birth comes on I can't wait to try it and feel so much respect and adoration for the mother's and Midwives.  Something about delivering my own baby and getting to hold her and witness every moment of her coming into this world really means something to me and gets my heart pumping.

Cole and I are so blessed to have his parent's here with us and we love them so much. Eating Sunday dinner with them and hanging out is a real treat.  They are special people.  I love the family I married into.  Cole is a wonderful son.  He takes time away from us and friends and work to help them with anything and everything.  They are so lucky to have a son so faithful.  I hope one day Finn will want to please us that much.  It really shows how great a person Cole is.  I was always told, you can see how a man will treat you, by how he treats his mother.  Our marriage is so blessed.  Every moment we are together it seems to get better.  We are finding ways to better understand each other and how to please one another.  His biggest goal in life, he has said, is to make me happy! You can't go wrong with that.  I love my husband so much and think back to our wedding day and I can't believe we started out on so little and now are so blessed.  We have a Temple marriage and a wonderful growing family, the gospel fills the rooms of our house and we have great friends that love us and are wonderful examples.

Here are some pictures of what has been going on the past 4 months:
